With Mr. Lalit Aggarwal stepping down from his position as Chair of the AGCO very recently, the Ontario public saw Ms. Heidi Reinhart acting as interim chair while the position was filled. As of the end of the month, Ms. Reinhart has now been appointed as the new Chair of iGaming Ontario (IGO).
The new official chair of the AGCO is now Dave Forestell, who was the IGO’s Chair before Ms. Reinhart. These changes all happened in the span of a month, and the IGO released a statement about this new chapter.
“iGaming Ontario welcomes Ms. Reinhart and extends a sincere thank you to Mr. Forestell for his leadership of this agency from its inception.”
Heidi Reinhart’s portfolio is an impressive one, to say the least. She practices securities and corporate law and is a Partner at Norton Rose Fulbright LLP. She’s been a member of the board of directors for the Alcohol and Gaming Commission since 2020 and is also a member of the Ontario Securities Commission’s Securities Advisory Committee and the Toronto Stock Exchange Listing Advisory Committee.
When it comes to Dave Forestell, the industry is very familiar with him. Mr. Forestell is responsible for the basis of the fundamental strategies that the IGO has released since it launched. He has led the IGO into what it is today, an industry regulator for the competitive Ontario market.
